Ella Langley apparently wasn’t too fond of a comment Riley Green made about her recently while chatting with two contestants on The Voice.
During the conversation, Riley brought up his past success with duets, saying:
“I’ve had some success with duets. There was a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour with me; her name’s Ella Langley. She’s doing pretty well.”
Well, Ella was asked about the comment during an Instagram Live and didn’t seem particularly impressed.
Her response?
“Yeah, when that man took credit, no, didn’t love that, but typical. Typical. Pretty typical.”
Now, this isn’t the first time the two have had an interaction that caught people’s attention, remember the “Pajama” comment…
Personally, I don’t necessarily think there was any malicious intent behind either comment. I think Riley may have been trying to be sarcastic, especially considering how successful Ella has become in her own right. Nor do I necessarily believe he was intentionally trying to take credit for her success, but I can understand how his wording might have come across that way.
At the end of the day, people can interpret comments differently, and what one person sees as harmless sarcasm might not land the same way with someone else.
Regardless, the friction between these two is certainly intriguing. Something may have happened behind the scenes, but to what extent? I guess we’ll never know.
