The Griffin Brothers are an up and coming country music duo from Canada. Ricky and Alex Griffin are actual brothers who both grew up in a very musical environment. Having multiple musical influences in the family, and their dad being a touring musician. They both developed their love for music at a very young age. The two would get on stage to play and sing, whenever their dad would be playing a local matinee. This gave the boys a chance to learn to play with a band right from the beginning. Music wasn’t something either one of them chose to do, they just thought that’s what you do when you grow up. You practice, you write, then you get a band and play.
Both brothers share the love of classic, 90’s, and modern country music. Which is what they capture in their own unique way. Alex and Ricky both had different focuses during their formative years, but both maintained a strong sense of the end goal. Alex spent a lot of his early years studying classical, and jazz music, as well as playing guitar in the local music scene. Ricky spent most of his time studying classical percussion as well as playing for other bands in the local country scene. Later on in their musical development both boys were always working with other artists. Both say that Griffin Brothers was never planned, it just made sense. They have been writing and playing music together since childhood.
