A Nipawin-based business is joining forces with a volunteer service organization to help those and their families suffering from cystic fibrosis in the community.
Refresh’d Smoothies, which launched in 2022, has partnered with the Nipawin Kinsmen and will be donating one dollar for every smoothie sold in May to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Owner of Refresh’d Smoothies Nic Palidwar told northeastNOW that coming together to help others is what makes a community great.
“I believe we should be working together as a community now. That’s my belief is that the community should work together.”
Not only does this encourage the community to come together but as Palidwar explains, it brings awareness to an important issue.
“Something this important, especially something such as cystic fibrosis, I think it’s our duty to find that money and make those fundraisers successful.”
Kymber Palidwar, operations manager of Refresh’d Smoothies, said the community in Nipawin has always been very supportive.
“It’s absolutely an honour to be able to take part in such a huge fundraiser. Our community is just huge on local support and fundraising.”
Nipawin Kinsmen President Spencer Maxwell explained this partnership is something that everyone involved is excited to take part in.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what we can raise working with these three groups and we’re hoping that we can raise as much as we can to get towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Canada.”
Throughout the past month, the club has been holding various fundraisers for good causes such as a steak supper for the Pinedale outdoor rink renovation project and the smile cookie campaign for the Dolly Parton imagination library.
Those wanting to join in the fundraising efforts can visit Refresh’d Smoothies, Nipawin Dairy Queen or Nipawin A&W any time during the month of May.
