The Super Mario Bros. Movie is doing waaay better than what many believed would happen. When the cast list was first dropped many doubted the movie would be a success due to some voice actors not matching with the original Nintendo video games. Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi, Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong.
But it has made a whole lot of money in the box office after only being out since last Wednesday, April 5th. It went past it’s expectations to earn $204.6 million in its five-day domestic debut and has earned an astounding worldwide start of $375.6 million! And it’s breaking records: Biggest Worldwide Opening of All Time for an Animated Film, Biggest Opening of All Time for a Video Game Adaptation, and Biggest Opening of 2023 to Date just to name a few.
And on top of all that people who both have and havn’t watched this super successful movie; have a song stuck in their head. Jack Black as Bowser and his original song Peaches. He both sang and wrote this song for the movie and you can feel how much he loved playing as Bowser. Check out both music videos where one he’s dressed in a Bowser/Elton John green outfit and sings in a peach coloured room and the animated one which showed after the films credits.
