Canadian Music superstar Johnny Reid is bringing his ‘Love Someone’ tour to Melfort.
The 2022 tour will be in the city on May 21 and 22 at the Kerry Vickar Centre (KVC) in the CJVR performing arts theatre.
Program Coordinator at the KVC Connie Miller told northeastNOW to be hosting an artist as big as Johnny Reid, the excitement is real.
“Sakamoto Agency told me it will be the longest running tour in Canada, and we’re just so happy to get to be part of that,” Miller said. “People have been asking if we have any shows coming up – it’s fun that the first one we get to announce is this big!”
The tour “Love Someone: An Intimate Evening with Johnny Reid,” kicks off in London, Ont. on Feb. 10.
The show was announced this morning and the feedback so far has been great, according to Miller.
“I have had phone calls coming in all day from people from all over the northeast area, they are excited and can’t wait to get tickets,” Miller said. “One lady called to ask me if it was ‘really for real’ that he was coming to Melfort.”
The two shows will give opportunity for more people to attend but seats are very limited.
“Johnny Reid seems to sell out everywhere so I don’t think we will have a problem filling seats,” Miller said.
Doors will open both evenings at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are assigned seating.
Over the past 10 years, Reid has performed to over 1 million people. This tour will give fans a chance to see Reid in a more intimate, up and close personal setting.
“The pandemic has taught me a lot about the value of time. I’ve given a lot of thought about how and where I want to spend my time,” Reid said in a release. “I’m really excited to bring this tour to as many places as possible. I can’t wait to reconnect with all of the people that have supported me all of these years in a more intimate concert experience.”
Tickets go on sale Friday Nov. 26. at 10 a.m. in person at the KVC or by credit card over the phone at 306-752-4177.
