Canadian Coast To Coast is presented by Melody Motors in Melfort.

My Special Guest is David Boyd Janes.

David was accepted to ESA (Etobicoke School Of The Arts) in Etobicoke originally as a Drama student but after his first year he decided to audition to Musical Theatre and focus more on singing and was accepted. While learning how to sing, perform and take part in studio work, David also formed a rock band called “Running Against Rader” during his high school years. This band went on to win several awards and competitions one being its biggest achievement “The Best Unsigned Band in Canada” through the Emergenza music festival where the world finals took place in Germany.

David took a several years hiatus after leaving Running Against Radar once they returned to Canada and put music on the back burner but never forgetting his passion and dreams to one day take that stage again! After years of Karaoke competitions, Canadian Idol and “just doing what he loves” David was able to adapt to several styles of music. As a “jack of all genres” it was also a curse he says. “Finding ME has been an issue, as I’ve adapted to so many different styles” Rap, RnB, Country, Rock, Standard and list goes on he says.
During David’s audition for “Season 5 The Shot” CJ Allen (Shot Producer) commented “I still have no idea who you are” Rick Barker (Taylor Swift) asked “What kind of an artist do you want to be” Since that audition, David went on to making it all the way to the final Top 10 and learning allot about himself along the way. Since Season 5 back in September of 2017 David has hit the ground running, truly “Finding Himself” and placing himself as a force to be reckoned with on the county scene.

In the last 7 months David has written and co-written 15+ original songs, built a 7-piece country band, recently returned from Nashville where the band recorded a 7 song EP. Also with accumulating 40k+ Instagram followers and his first single “Summertime Feeling” set for radio release early April 2018 It’s safe to say this is an artist to watch out for.

Today, David will tell us about his background, and the new tune “Summertime Feeling”.

1pm MT on 105 CJVR.
